The Marble Staircase, known as the Grand Staircase is a massive structure in Hogwarts Castle, mainly used to access each floor of the castle, including the dungeons.
The multiple staircases in the Marble Staircase lead from platform to platform and go as high as the seventh floor where they come to an end.
Behind the Scenes[]
- The Grand Staircase used to act like a moving staircase like {Until 2.0} what was projected in the first six Harry Potter films.
- This was later changed to the Marble Staircase, {Since 2.0} in which the stairs don't move, but was also intended to match the eighth film, and indirectly with Snape's running of the castle giving students enough room to move in large collective groups up and down the stairs without stopping.
- The staircase is designed to be wide (7-block wide) in the middle set of stairs, whilst the stairs on the sides seem to be narrower (3-block wide) {Upcoming 4.0} .
- Unlike the eighth film, the staircase only goes up to the seventh floor. This is understandable because of Minecraft's world height limit is 256 blocks {Until MCJE 1.18}. With the height limit change in Minecraft 1.18, the Grand Staircase will extend up to 10 floors, including Ground Floor and basement {Upcoming 4.0} .
